1. Agreement and operator details
These Terms of Use govern access to ROYU. By creating an account or using ROYU, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
The service operator’s legal name, address, governing law and venue must be confirmed before publication. No company, address or court jurisdiction is invented in this draft.
2. The ROYU service
ROYU is a language-learning service for two linked profiles. It includes personal learning progress, official A1–C2 grammar and vocabulary, spaced repetition, shared workspaces, partner invitations, word sharing, shared goals, streaks, quizzes, widgets, notifications and optional Premium AI features.
Some features require a compatible Apple device, internet access, a supported sign-in provider or an active couple relationship. Official course content is designed to remain available offline in the iOS app, but synchronization, social, subscription and AI features require network access.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- Provide accurate information and keep your device and authentication method secure.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by ROYU’s failure to apply reasonable security.
- You must be legally able to accept these Terms. If you are a minor, a parent or guardian must provide authorization where required.
- Do not share authentication credentials or bypass access, App Check, quota or entitlement controls.
4. Couple features and invitations
A ROYU couple relationship links exactly two profiles for shared learning. Only send an invitation to a person you know and intend to connect with. Anyone who possesses a valid invitation link may see and copy its code, so keep it private.
A relationship allows each partner to see the limited profile, learning, goal, streak, contribution, inbox and quiz data needed for the shared experience. Ending the relationship, deleting an account or resetting a primary workspace may remove relationship-scoped data for both people.
Personal learning goals are private to their owner. Shared goals and league entry require partner acceptance. The league ranks couples as teams, not partners against each other; purchasing Premium does not itself award league points. Learning goals and league tiers are not certificates of language proficiency.
Shared creatures, habitats and Bond Gifts are in-app learning features. Availability and access conditions are shown in the app. Offline personal study is saved on the device; synchronization and shared results require a connection, and pending local activity is not a confirmed league or shared-streak result.
5. Your content
You retain rights you hold in words, examples, goal titles, quiz topics and other content you submit. You grant ROYU a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, reproduce and display that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service you request.
Do not submit unlawful, infringing, abusive, hateful, sexually exploitative, privacy-invasive or malicious content. Do not submit secrets, health data, financial credentials or other sensitive information to AI prompts.
6. AI features
AI explanations, vocabulary, grammar quizzes, translations and custom together quizzes are generated by automated systems. Outputs can be incorrect, incomplete, biased or unsuitable. They are educational aids, not professional advice, and should be checked against reliable sources.
You may not use ROYU’s AI features to generate prohibited content, evade safeguards, reverse engineer providers or conduct automated bulk extraction.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not break the law, infringe rights, harass another person or misuse an invitation.
- Do not probe, disrupt, overload or bypass security, rate limits, subscriptions or access controls.
- Do not use bots, scraping or automation to extract content or operate the service without written permission.
- Do not impersonate another person, submit malicious code or interfere with another user’s learning data.
- Do not resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service or official content without permission.
9. Intellectual property
ROYU, its logo, interface, original course structure, software and service content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their owners.
10. Availability and changes
ROYU may change, suspend or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, respond to provider changes or improve the service. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features marked as coming soon are not yet available and no release date is guaranteed.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROYU is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, loss of data, lost profits or loss caused by reliance on AI output. Any monetary cap and jurisdiction-specific wording must be reviewed with qualified counsel after the operator and governing law are confirmed.
13. Suspension, termination and deletion
You may stop using ROYU at any time and may permanently delete the account in Profile → Account & Security → Delete Account. We may restrict or terminate access for serious or repeated breach, fraud, security risk, legal requirement or harmful use, with notice where reasonably possible and legally required.
Provisions that by nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits and dispute terms—continue to apply.
14. Apple terms
If you obtain ROYU through Apple, Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for ROYU except as required by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to the iOS app.

15. Governing law and disputes
Governing law, venue, consumer-law exceptions and any dispute process must be completed after the legal operator and relevant jurisdictions are confirmed. Mandatory consumer rights in your country or region are not waived.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, provider or legal changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after an effective update means acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
